Marlin Offshore is a leading provider of offshore tender rig drilling. Our fleet of tender rigs is the second largest in the industry and we currently have units operating in West Africa and Southeast Asia.

TENDER RIGS

  • A tender rig is a purpose built self-erecting drilling tender barge. The barge is typically moored alongside a platform and contains crew quarters, mud tanks, mud pumps, and power generation systems. The only equipment transferred to the platform for drilling operations is the Drilling Equipment Set ("DES"), which included the drill floor, derrick and other drilling equipment. The self-erecting tender rig is designed as a cost-efficient and flexible drilling system for development scenarios involving multiple well slot fixed platforms whereby the rig moves from platform to platform using its own DES which is lifted onto the oil platform by its own crane.

HIGH QUALITY TENDER RIGS BENEFITING FROM RECENT REFURBISHMENTS

  • Marlin Offshore is committed to key upgrades and improvements to its rig fleet.The upgrades include the addition of a third mud pump, expanded living quarters, enhanced crane lifting capabilities and offline stand-building.

  • The recent refurbishments of the W.D. Kent and the Searex IX have improved the operating performance and competitiveness of these tender rigs.

  • Marlin Offshore is managed by a seasoned and highly experienced management team with many years of combined tenure in the offshore oilfield services industry. The team has substantial experience in all oil & gas industry disciplines including building, marketing and operating all types of mobile offshore drilling units.

  • Marlin has partnered with KCA Deutag Drilling Ltd to operate its tender rigs and provide a variety of services, including but not limited to, onshore and offshore personnel, rig operating systems and maintenance personnel.

INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS

  • Marlin Offshore operates tender rigs offshore in Thailand, Malaysia and Angola. In addition, the company has undertaken shipyard projects in Malaysia, Thailand, Ghana and South Africa.
